Mary Oliver

The first poem "Wild Geese" reminds me of a song calld "Surrender Saved My Life." What I liked about this poem was that there were phrases that were very descriptive. These include phrases like "you do not have to walk on your knees for a hundred miles through the desert, repenting". This is descriptive because it tells something, or how someone is doing something.
I also liked the poem "A Visitor". This poem describes what a person did, in my opinion of the poem, by ignoring his father. If themain character had actually loved his father, then they would have had a good relationship, but instead, the main character ignored his father, and not until the end of the poem did they see love in each other's eyes.
